The construction of hospitals involves complex building and technology design supported by industry collaboration and years of sustained relentless effort.
Its been a pleasure bringing to life numerous hospitals through the construction design phases and ultimately handover to the operating health district.
Zoos & Attractions
Often when talking to clients about work in these complex sites, there is a suspension of belief that these are places of serious business. In NSW the gross turnover of this industry is over a billion of dollars annually.
A big Zoo facility is a complex operation involving many IT systems and supporting functions. A few are:- Veterinary Hospitals, Admissions, CRM, Finance, Security (Access control, CCTV), Audio Visual (Public address, Sound, Lighting), Retail, Web, Food and Beverage, Animal containment (Electric fencing, Quarantine), Fire and hotel accommodation, etc.
Ensuring systems work together in a challenging unique environment is a serious technical and logistical challenge. And thoroughly enjoyable!

On a per transaction basis few come to the level of transactions processed by this industry on a daily basis. The technology verticals, redundancy and sheer scale of industry technology that has to be legally accountable, resilient and tested extensively is mind blowing.

Government & Military
There are high expectations of accountability within Governments and people are willing to put their life on the line for ideals in the name of public service. Government may be seen as the 18 wheel truck on the highway, and often things aren’t as quick or agile as one would like, but pointed in the right direction government will move mountains for the public good. Where we can assist we should help for the greater good of everyone.
At some stage in one’s career, it would be insightful for people to serve government for at least a short period to gain an understanding of culture, process and service.
Movie Post Production
Sweep began writing and maintaining complex Film editing software for the movie industry. Large negative reels of kodak film stock processed in laboratories. Transferred and scanned to analogue television for editing. Subsequently cut up and spliced back together to make a movie.
Many technology transitions need a hybrid or bridge between the old and new ways. Today the technology is rightfully superseded, with movies shot completely digitally. Sweep was proud to be part of that transition for the movie industry with direct involvement with films like the Matrix.
